Surface Preparation

The ability of a protective coating to perform as anticipated is often compromised by substandard surface preparation. We have seen numerous projects perform badly due to poor initial surface preparation. Thorough preparation underscores the ability of the product to perform to its maximum ability, while being dollar for dollar the best investment in ensuring a successful out come.

Surface preparation is not a one size fits all process. Diverse industries and operating conditions have unique solutions that require different approaches. With this in mind we offer the following surface preparation methods

  • Dry Abrasive Blasting

Traditional dry blasting is available both onsite or in our blast room offering minimum profiles between 75 and 120 micron as required by Ceramic and Polyurethane Coatings . Suitable blast media is available to suit varying substrates as required.

  • Wet Abrasive Blasting

Wet abrasive blasting offer significant benefits in industry were there are high levels of soluble salt contaminates. The wet blast process produces cleaner results in these environments with enhanced adhesion and coating service life. Reduced dust and abrasive consumption can also offer advantages to projects that are sensitive to these factors.

  • UHP Water Blasting

Our adaptive and flexible UHP Water Blasting services covers a broad and ever expanding range of capacities. With equipment ranging from 50 hp to 350 hp and pressures to 43,500 psi, we are able to service all your surface preparation whether it be concrete scarifying or rubber removal.
